Pete Hardy is President and Founder STW/911 Self-Defense and owner of largest Krav Maga Worldwide training facilities in the U.S. As Chief Instructor, he has served 40 years in the fitness industry and 15 years Krav Maga Student and Licensee. Hardy is a 2nd Degree Black Belt in Krav Maga, certified Krav Maga Train-the-Trainer, Certified LEO Krav Maga Instructor, Certified NRA Pistol Instructor, S.E.A.R. Training (for restraint defeat), Personal Protection Office Course Level IV Certification, contractor for the Alamo Area Council of Governments Law Enforcement Academy – Defensive Tactics Instructor, contractor for the Department of Defense – Defensive Tactics Instructor (Captivity Avoidance), founder of Dangerously Cute Women’s Self-Defense Seminars and recipient of the Jefferson Public Service Award.

Pete Hardy started his fitness career in 1971 with European health clubs, later becoming Family Fitness Centers. Since that time, he has run fitness centers all over the United States. In 1995, owned and operated multiple World Gym franchises in Texas and opened two Women’s Only Premier Fitness centers with complete spa facilities. In 2001, he started the current concept, STW Self Defense & Fitness in San Antonio, Texas. The two current centers in San Antonio feature the following:

  • 60,000 sq. ft and 35,000 sq ft
  • Spacious training rooms 2,500-10,000 sq. ft.
  • Cardio Bag rooms with 100 – 6 ft Thai bags
  • 50 indoor cycling bikes
  • Mock 737 simulated airplane cabin for realistic training scenarios
  • Realistic 1,400 sq. ft. fully furnished “house” for home-invasion training
  • Bar for training scenarios using cue sticks, beer bottles, chairs & tables
  • Women’s Self Defense Seminars


STW Self Defense & Fitness is a totally new concept in the U.S. teaching nothing but group fitness (Advanced Performance Exercise Program-APES Boot Camp, APES SCC, Battle Ropes, Cardio Kickboxing, Fitness & Power Cycling, Fitness Kickboxing, Fitness Rings, Kettlebell, MixFit, Performance Stretch & Roll, Power Lunch, Rush Hour Strength, STW Fury) and Krav Maga self-defense with a membership base that exceeds 5,000 members & students. At this time, STW offers 106 classes a week of fitness, Krav Maga and Fit-to-Fight.
